Bullet Resisting Fiberglass Armor Panels
ShotGard® bullet resisting fiberglass armor is a multiple ply ballistic fiberglass laminate produced from woven ballistic fiberglass impregnated with a thermoset polyester resin binder. The multi-ply configuration provides a delamination effect when ballistically attacked, therefore bullets are imbedded within its plies rather than ricocheted like steel or aluminum armor. ShotGard is a fraction of the weight of steel armor for identical performance levels. It can be cut, drilled, and worked using conventional carpentry tools. No reinforcing of traditional stud wall construction is needed. Attachment to new walls can be accomplished with a construction adhesive. This bonding application can also be used in under counter retrofit applications. ShotGard is compatible with contact or construction adhesives, which makes ShotGard ideal to incorporate in wood door and millwork panels.
